Town Centre Routes
Although as long ago as 1998 Woking Borough
Council approved proposals for routes through the town centre to connect up the
radial routes of the proposed Primary Network, nothing
much has happened to put these proposals into effect. The routes that were
proposed are set out below and have proved to be rather optimistic with the
dates shown for implementation.
The good news from the recent (January 2008)
meeting of the Woking Cycle Forum is that introducing cycle routes through
Woking town centre is once more back on the agenda and the original information
has been updated with what we have learned so far. More information on this should follow in the next
few months.

North/South trips have also been considerably eased at Victoria Arch, where cycle lanes have been provided in each direction. This has also improved safety for pedestrians, a number of whom had previously been struck by vehicles whilst walking along the footway at this location. |
