We are a voluntary group of local residents of
all ages who use bicycles for transport and leisure. We believe that the bicycle
has an important role to play in creating a healthier, cleaner and safer
environment. Our aim is to further the interests of cyclists and other
vulnerable road users in and around
|
Since our group was founded in 1994, we have: |
|
- Consulted members and the local community
- Published a regular newsletter for members
- Held regular membership meetings to consult and inform
- Contributed to the
- Lobbied for improved cycle facilities
- Submitted comments for the government’s Integrated Transport Policy
- Supported
- Supported the Bikeathon, National Cycling Week
and the
- Devised and published leisure rides around
- Organised group bike rides
- Run cycle training classes for adults
- Run cycle maintenance classes
- Created this web site!
Interested in old bicycles?
A more recent addition to the attractions at Brooklands Museum is the Raleigh
Cycle Display, charting the history of the famous company from it’s
humble beginnings in 1886 right up to the present day with a unique collection
of bicycles, accessories and posters. There’s a long history of cycle
racing at Brooklands and
